Benefit Concert : Neue Philharmonie München
Saturday, September 28, 2024. 7 p.m. Herkules Saal, Residenz München
Join us on September 28 for the 7th charity concert by the Neue Philharmonie München in collaboration with the Kolibri Intercultural Foundation.
Kolibri has invited around 500 young refugees and their classmates to experience an exhilarating programme of classical music to be performed by the orchestra’s young musicians who are drawn from all across Europe.
This exciting co-operation with Kolibri offers refugees from schools in and around Munich a stimulating cultural event and, for some, a first taste of Western classical music. It is especially valuable for students whose school curriculum does not include music or the arts.
Programme:
– Robert Schumann, Manfred Overture
– Clara Schumann, Piano Concerto
– Johannes Brahms, Symphony No 1
Conductor Simon Edelmann, Piano Freddy Kempf
The concert, to be performed in in the ornate hall of the ‘Herkules Saal’ in the Munich Residence is made possible through donations and ticket sponsorships. You too can contribute by ordering tickets for 20, 30 or 40 Euros at ticket@kolibri-stiftung.de
The age of the musicians, conductor and piano soloist make this concert especially accessible to young people. Mona Pishkar, a young Iranian violinist and other music teachers will offer students an introduction to the concert in schools beforehand.
Judging by the enthusiastic feedback from past years, everybody is in for a sparkling evening!
